Educating the whole child…

GMATS

At MCA, students in PK-12th grade participate in gym, music, art, and technology (GMATs) weekly or twice weekly. Each of these subjects aims to develop students holistically—academically, physically, artistically, and spiritually—within the framework of a Christ-centered education.

Physical Education

The Physical Education program at MCA for PK-12th grade students emphasizes the development of physical fitness, teamwork, and respect for others. Students engage in various sports and activities that promote coordination, strength, and cardiovascular health. Physical education here focuses on healthy competition and character-building, including perseverance, humility, and fair play, in alignment with a biblical worldview. Students learn about the value of caring for their bodies as gifts from God and are encouraged to foster healthy lifestyles in stewardship of their physical well-being.

In addition to 80 to 120 minutes of physical education weekly, students in PK-8 participate in a daily recess of 20 minutes. Many 5-12th grade students are also involved in seasonal athletics, while PK-12th grade students culminate the year with our annual Field Day!

Music

Music instruction at MCA nurtures a love for music as a universal language and a way to glorify God. Students learn to read music, play instruments, and sing, emphasizing classical and contemporary Christian music. Weekly music classes help students develop teamwork and discipline in a collaborative setting. Through concerts, chapel services, daily advisory and assembly, and special events, students can use their musical gifts to serve the school and bring glory to God.

PK-8th grade students participate in two annual music programs; one takes place at Christmas, and the other is in the spring. Various grades sometimes will put on a musical during the annual music program.

Art

At MCA, weekly art classes for PK-12th grade students foster creativity and artistic expression while integrating a Christian worldview. Students explore various techniques and media, including drawing, painting, and digital art. They are encouraged to appreciate beauty in creation, using their artistic talents as a form of worship and a reflection of God's creativity. Art lessons often incorporate themes from Scripture, helping students see how art can communicate truth and inspire faith. As students develop their artistic skills, they are taught to use their gifts to honor God and to serve others through visual storytelling and expression.

Technology

Weekly technology classes for 3rd-8th grade students equip students with essential 21st-century skills while reinforcing Christian ethical principles related to the use of technology. Students are taught computer literacy, coding, digital citizenship, and responsible use of the internet, with a focus on how to apply their skills in a way that honors God. Emphasis is placed on discerning media consumption, respecting privacy, and maintaining integrity in online interactions. As students advance, they explore more complex subjects like digital design and computer programming, learning to use their technical abilities to solve problems and serve others in their communities and future careers.
